After a winding mountain drive into Pigeon Forge, we checked into the Norma Dan Motel during our October road trip. We’d been moving between destinations and hotels, so we wanted a straightforward, comfortable place to spend the night.
Arriving in Pigeon Forge
We left I-40 at Exit 443 and followed some unexpectedly winding mountain roads into Pigeon Forge. By the time we arrived, we were ready to settle in.
Our Room and the Property

We stayed in a clean, first-floor room with a patio. After a long day on the road, we appreciated being able to park nearby and carry our bags straight in.
Breakfast was included and described to us as continental. For a road-trip overnight stop, details like that can make the morning a little easier.
Two Pools and Two Hot Tubs

One of the nicest surprises at Norma Dan was having both indoor and outdoor options for swimming and relaxing. There were two pools and two hot tubs: one pool and hot tub indoors, and another set outdoors. We actually tried both pool areas, and both were great. After a long day on the road, having those choices made the stay feel like more than just an overnight stop.
Location and Nearby Food
Norma Dan is right across from Dolly Parton’s Stampede, which makes the motel easy to spot and puts it in a convenient location for a Pigeon Forge stay.
Another perk was having McAlister’s and Texas Roadhouse just a short walk away. We didn’t have to drive again after checking in. And that Texas Roadhouse? The best we’ve ever visited! The food was excellent, and our waitress, Emori, was top-notch. Kudos to her!
Breakfast at Norma Dan Motel
Breakfast was included with our stay. The continental breakfast area had muffins, bagels, waffles, juice, coffee, and other grab-and-go options during our visit.

What We Paid
Our stay was originally planned for longer, but we changed it to one night. We were quoted a room rate around $87 per night during planning and also discussed a military discount. I’ll confirm the final one-night total from our receipt before listing it as the amount paid.
Would We Stay Again?
For this stop, the important things were a clean room, a convenient location, and an easy way to get dinner and get back on the road. This was the sort of practical motel stay that can work well in the middle of a longer trip.
Editorial notes before publication: confirm the final one-night rate and military discount terms; add original photos of the room, patio, indoor and outdoor pool areas, and parking; confirm what breakfast was actually served; and check current property amenities.
